chris payton - CEO and chef
Chris found his way into the kitchen through his ex-wife’s
stomach.
Chris started cooking Indian food for Parule in 1999 whilst
she was pregnant with Billy Blu. Entirely self-taught, what
started as a hobby soon became a small business as ex-pat
friends started requesting catering and home-chefing services.
Within a couple of years it seemed like a good idea to compile
a small list of friends and email them with a weekly menu
- and so curry club was born. As momentum built Chris and
the team were encouraged to share their love of Indian food
by opening a small restaurant.
The unique curry club "signature flavor" has already
attracted an ever increasing loyal following and has garnered
an “excellent” rating from Zagats Survey 2007.
casey mcqueen – executive chef
After a chance meeting, Casey joined curry club in 2005 and
became a partner and executive chef in 2006. Previously Casey
had spent three years in the kitchen of James Beard award
winning chef Ann Cashions. Casey brings a unique flair to
the flavor of the food that is served.
curry club only uses all natural hormone and antibiotic free
meats and produce from local purveyors whenever possible.
curry club continues to remain true to Indian cuisine infused
with a British twist – that which inspired it in the
first place.
Entering its third year, with this formula in place, we look
forward to a variety of new developments to the daily changing
menu.
parule basu-barua, radesh ganeshkumar, and
will simonds
You are likely to see the faces of Parule, Radesh, and Will
when they are at curry club in the evenings to host. As partners
all three played an important role in the early stages of
curry club.
Parule developed the brand, the product, and the look and
feel of the place and is currently looking at ways to develop
the brand further. Parule launched the all-natural spices
under the curry club brand in the Fall of 2005.
Will played a significant role in the development of the
email delivery business and continues to host at the restaurant
on a regular basis.
Radesh worked closely with Parule in the start-up of curry
club and as well as hosting. He is responsible for overseeing
the financials and investor relations.
